Validating the skills of our students is of utmost importance to us at COTHM Dubai. Even though our self-paced programs are offered in online/blended mode, to maintain a higher level of authenticity, we implicate various assessment methods. These methods are designed to give our students the best chance to succeed and show off their newly acquired skills.
Some of the common assessment methods are explained below, depending on the program of study you may come across some of these or all these.
There are a few different assessment methods we apply at COTHM Dubai. These methods are generally based on the type of program that you are enrolled in. Depending on your program of study, you may come across some of these methods, or in some cases all of them. Here is a brief overview of some of the most common assessment methods:
Assignments: Assignments are a common form of assessment for many programs. They are generally used to assess your ability to communicate your thoughts and ideas on a given topic.
Mid-Term Exams: Mid-Term Exams are self-paced online quizzes used to assess your knowledge and understanding of a given subject to prepare yourself for the Final Examination.
Final Examination: All our final examinations are either proctored online or on-campus. The final examination is pre-scheduled on request from the candidate and will remain available to attempt for a limited period communicated in advance. Students who fail to take the exam during their scheduled window will have to re-take the exam after paying the re-take fee.
Online Presentations: Presentations are often used to assess your ability to communicate and present information clearly and concisely.
Projects: Projects are often used to assess your ability to apply your knowledge and skills to a real-world situation.
